Antony Conboy

Lead Product Designer · London, UK

Lead Product Designer with 15+ years across consumer fintech, media and enterprise — Barclays, Cisco, BBC and Condé Nast. I take ambiguous, complex problems and turn them into simple, scalable products, owning everything from discovery research and product vision through to interaction, motion and final UI. I lead through evidence — discovery research, usability and A/B testing — and design accessible experiences that work for everyone. My work has shipped to 130M+ annual visitors, cut delivery time by up to 50% through design systems, and saved days and thousands of dollars per enterprise sales demo — alongside leading teams of up to 10, shipping production code with Claude and Cursor, and teaching 40,000+ designers on YouTube.

Highlights

  • Commercial impact at scale: design systems that cut delivery time 30–50%; award-winning barclays.co.uk redesign (130M+ visits); demo tooling saving Cisco days and thousands of dollars per sales demo.

  • AI-native designer: designed and shipped an AI-powered product (generative documentation flows), writing production code with Claude and Cursor; pioneered AI-assisted prototyping across Cisco's Sales Org.

  • Award-winning craft: DMA Best Overall Digital Magazine (Wired) and Best Fashion Magazine (Vogue) for the UK's first native iPad magazine apps.

  • Visible design leader: built a £100k+ design education business (40k+ subscribers, 1,000+ students); founded two cross-company Design Councils (Barclays, BBC); trusted to present to VP/SVP/C-level.

Experience

Cisco

Jan 2018 – Present · London

UI/UX Designer, dCloud Platform

Joined as contract Lead UX Designer (2018–2020); permanent since 2020. IC lead: sole designer for the platform, leading through cross-functional ownership and influence rather than line management.

  • Platform ownership: Sole designer across Cisco's dCloud demo platform portfolio (dCloud, Topology Builder, Expo, AEM) serving 100,000+ users globally — partnering daily with the Product Owner on platform vision and presenting design direction to VP, SVP and C-level leadership for development.

  • Design system: Created the Sales Org UI Kit, a modular design system of reusable components and patterns adopted across multiple internal products — cutting design-to-development time by 30% and unifying the organisation's interaction language.

  • Product vision: Defined the product vision, principles and end-to-end design for Topology Builder — transforming complex network data into intuitive interfaces used by 10,000+ sales engineers to build virtual demo environments, replacing physical kit and saving days of setup and thousands of dollars in hardware per demo.

  • Customer-facing product: Designed Expo, Cisco's customer-facing demo and event portal — a self-service platform that has powered 1,000+ events worldwide; presented the product to customers at Cisco Live and ran in-person customer interviews to feed insight back into the roadmap.

  • Revenue connection: Currently designing dCloud's Salesforce integration to connect demo activity directly to deal revenue, and integrating CPOC (Customer Proof of Concept) — the route for Cisco's highest-value deals — into the dCloud catalogue.

  • AI product: Designed and shipped Document Hub, an AI-powered product that generates production-ready demo documentation — designing the generative AI user flows end-to-end and writing the production code myself with Claude and Cursor.

  • AI prototyping: Built a single advanced prototype of the entire platform vision in Figma Make and Claude (replacing dozens of fragmented prototypes) and presented it to the Sales Organisation as the showcase for AI-driven design.

  • Team & culture: Mentored 3 design interns, founded a design internship programme with Carmel College, and contributed to design hiring — interviewing and recommending designers at both Cisco and Barclays.
